In a recent conference, Senior Vice President Prabhakar Raghavan shared that Google’s studies have shown that although younger people still use Google’s search products, they are beginning their unique searches through more “immersive” experiences through social media platforms – especially TikTok and Instagram.
Although this study has yet to be shared, Google has already begun to take action by creating deals with social platforms to list their content on Google’s search engine, adjusting Google Maps to be more visually appealing for the younger generation (many of whom have never used a physical map before), as well as thinking of ways to include more voice-activated and VR experiences.
